We are thrilled to announce that the Call for Papers for the 2027 Biannual Conference on Innovation in Academic Publishing is officially LIVE!
Organized by the Future of Science Network (FOSN), in collaboration with Aix-Marseille Université, the Institute for Advanced Studies (UM6P), the University of Chicago, Columbia University (CCCT), and Sciences Po Aix, this event will take place in Aix-en-Provence in the summer of 2027.
This biannual conference gathers researchers, editors, technologists, and entrepreneurs who are reimagining the future of how knowledge is produced, reviewed, and shared. From AI-assisted editorial processes to participatory peer review and open economies of scholarship, FOSN 2027 will be a laboratory for new ways of publishing and evaluating research.

The academic publishing world is changing fast — open science, automation, and participatory models are redrawing the boundaries of authorship and evaluation. The conference invites both critical reflections and experimental contributions across disciplines that engage with these transformations: from digital humanities to information science, philosophy of science, machine learning, and sociology of knowledge.

Accepted contributions will appear in the Open Review Conference Proceedings published on the FOSN platform, complete with DOI and open commentary.
